I couldn't believe the story I saw on CNN-HN last night! Once again, the government thinks it knows better than well-meaning citizens with the RIGHT idea like Madeleine's who's creating a wild sanctuary for our nation's wild horses. Thus, once again, our tax dollars are being wasted by spending a million (probably more) dollars on their cruel round-up. This is past the point of ridiculous and just plain old stupid. As a horse-lover I'm not just mad, I'm incensed! Is there some way I/we could start a petition to have the horses given over to Madeleine and her cause?

Thank you to Jane Valez-Mitchell for revealing what a terrible tragedy the mustangs are facing to the American public and GOD BLESS Madeline Pickens for her heroic efforts in trying to save the Mustangs! The stupidity of and the wasting of taxpayer money by the BLM makes my blood boil!!!!

I have been an online activist for the last decade and signed many petitions, written letters to officials, Congress and Media Editors concerning the protection and preservation of both wild horses, Mustangs and Bison. I have even written personal letters to Governors. In response to recent Big Media News Releases about the pledging of private land to wild ECO-preserves for horses being rejected simply because B-L-M agendas are already underway I find utterly absurd and believe a National Federal Class Action Lawsuit be fomented!

The wild horses should be able to run free, especially on a wonderful persons private sanctuary.. Whats the goverment thinking?? Focus on bringing our troops home for god sake.

I just saw the Jane Velez-Mitchell show telling about the atrocities happening to these wild horses....it sickens me to know that our Federal Government is using our tax dollars to mistreat these beautiful animals. I want to support the cause to save these horses.

Wild horses should not be cooped up. Let them run free in their fields. I do not agree to let those horses injure themselves. Let the horses go!

Horses have been the background of American History. They need to be admired and treated with the respect that is due them. I would love to see the sanctuary Madeleine is providing for these animals be exempt of the inhumane & frightening roundups from the US government.

As an owner of 4 Eastern Oregon mustangs, I can personally vouch for the intelligence, personality and sensitive humanity these majestic living symbols of our truly unique American heritage embody. To destroy them in any way is downright unpatriotic, unjustified and cruel. It says a lot for the state of our government to allow this to happen. I am normally a calm and passive person, allowing life to take it's course, but this I cannot endure. Please pass the word to everyone you can that our Mustangs have adapted well to wild America and have a right to live. The treatment that our own government is giving them is heading in a sick and twisted direction that will be an obamanation if left to have it's way. Please help us save SOMETHING of our proud and treasured past before there is no more pride in being an American.

Madeline, I totally admire and want to encourage you 100% to continue to fight for these horses. I'm an animal lover and hope that we can save as many of these innocent Mustangs as possible. I looked around a bit for somewhere to make a donation but couldn't find it anywhere. If there is a place for donations please email me at andys1981@comcast.net. Thank you and keep up the great work for this great cause.

I contacted the office of land management to let them know my displeasure with the mustangs not being allowed to use the land they have a right to. Also, I let them know that I think it is abusive to pend them up and run them down as they are defendless and cannot speak for themselves.

Thankyou for helping the mustangs. I am a veterinarian and saw them herding these horses into these small corrals and was sickened. I have written to my senator and would like to do as much as I can to help.

You can call the ASPCA for owners abusing animals. What would happen if you called the ASPCA on the government for the abuse they put on the horses.

How is it that the few wild horses that remain are such a threat that that have to be treated this way. The very old and very horses do not usually survive these so called "gatherings". Gathering sounds pretty uneventful as opposed to what is really happening. The BLM and all the government officals involved shoud be ashamed of themselves!

I am appauled that a country that takes pride in preserving life, natural resourses, humanitarian treatment of all living things allows this cruelity to exist. Who's palm is being greased? The individual or individuals that support this action are equal to those that are involved in dog fighting. How can you sleep at night, with your backing of such brutality, viciousness, callousness and heartlessness. If I had $$$$ I would stop this.

Keep up the good fight Madeleine, and show the world and the American people, that the BLM leaders an workers are NOT the only ones to have monopoly on the Mustang's welfare and futur. They are NOT the only "wild horse experts" in this country and must learn to trust and let members of the public help them save the Mustangs humanely. They obviously can't do it all by themselves !!

For many years now I have been disgusted at the activities of the BLM in regards to the Wild Mustangs. You, Madeleine, are to be applauded. You are not only putting your money where your mouth is, but you are creating awareness of this heinous act. When the time comes I would love to come to Nevada and do any volunteer work I can to assist you and this wonderful project. Thank you Madeleine Pickens and the Advisory Board.

Those who critized the $500 per year per horse must not realize the BLM is currently spending $2500 per year now. I also own horses and know the expense involved in keeping them healty. I recently viewed the trailer of the new film about this issue Someone inthe film commented we are paying our hard earned cash to send these horses to concentration camps. I for one do not like my tax dollars wasted especially for institutionalized cruelty. Bravo to SAM and Madelene - everyone needs to spread the message
