I am only going to say this once, and it better be the only time i ever have to say this because it better soke into the Senates thick heads. "LEAVE THE MUSTANGS ALONG." If that bill passes, the Senate will see me in Navada, and the last thing they will ever see is my RIFFLE BEING SHOVED UP THEIR ASSES.

Dear Ms. Pickens: The time, effort, and money toward saving America's mustangs is such an important endeavor. These horses are not only symbolic of our nations history, but are beautiful animals that should be admired and not degraded. Your mustang sanctuary will be a stop on my annual journey from Colorado to California to see family. I can't wait.... Thanks! JB

Shut down the slaughter houses. Stop sending horse meat to Canada and Mexico. the BLM is lying through their teeth. No slaughterhouses should ever be allowed in this great country. Horses built this country. they are a national treasure. I now support Frontline Equine. Help them too. Thank you.

ok, first I am so mad.... but I will say my positive side- thank you for doing what is right by these animals who need a voice, instead of the people who do things for self benefit... This was a very effective way to get attention and hopefully people will take a very close look at what these defenseless animals go through for people's "grazing" benefits

The video to Oprah was well done...heart-wrenching. Organizing a benefit star-studded concert, say perhaps near the round up sites (is Sting available?); we also need a Julia Butterfly; we also need a video to do a comparative analysis to Hitler and the Nazi concentration camps (the methods of round-up and holding and treatment looks identical to me--the horses look like holocaust victims--)and perhaps round up of Native Americans and the Trail of Tears perhaps. Rename BLM to Bureau of Livestock Mortality.

It brings me to tears to see what these amazing, beautiful horses and burros experience at the hand of our Goverment. It's beyond disgusting, and shameful. I 100% with every ounce of my being support you and the will to save America's Mustangs and Burros! God Bless you and everyone that is helping make a difference, and God Bless everyone of those sweet innocent equine souls.

Many years ago I witnessed first hand the atrocities of a BLM wild horse adoption sale. The handling of the horses was so brutal that I had to leave the facility. Since that time my heart has been with the poor, unfortunate horses and burros whose fate has left them in the hands of the BLM. I feel now they may have a chance to change that fate and once again live in freedom. I fully support the mission of Saving America's Mustangs

Thank you for the good work you do to save Americas wild horses!! We, who care about horses, are alive at this time in the world to participate and stand up and speak up!! There IS a will and there IS a way. Talk to everyone you know, these are YOUR horses Americans! Can we be proud of how our wild horses and burros are being treated? We should be setting an example for the whole world.

There are no words to describe how beautiful these horses are. It is sad that we as humans take away all the things that nature should be. How sad most wild animals have to live out their lives not knowing true freedom. Ideally these animals should run free and we should let them be. As with any wild animal.

How can this country allow such atrocities to those beautiful and majestic creatures?? What kind of world do we live in that would allow such horror? Thank god for the wonderful people trying to stop this abuse. Leave our wild mustangs alone!!

I don't understand how something like this continues...Are horse loving foundations and associations aware of this abuse? Why is it so difficult to stop it? Sorry these may be stupid/ignorant questions but maybe someone can answer them anyway? Elise Rothman d'Hauthuille Grantwriter - Equine Assisted Therapy Programs

Truth teller. These horses that are being gathered up are not on private land. They are on federal land that is being leased for a approximately $1.25 per head of cattle for each year. Let's have the ranchers pay a fair rate. The budget for the wild horse and burro program for the coming year is 75.7 million dollars. There is also an additional 42.5 million dollars set aside to purchase the land for one wild horse preserve. End the round-ups and transport of horses to pens in the mid-west. These magnificent animals are being abused for no reason other than federally subsidized ranchers want them off of the land!

Mrs. Pickens is asking the BLM to buy the land for her. She is also asking the BLM to pay her 20 cents more for each horse everyday than the BLM pays the land owners where they keep horses in private ownership. She is going to cost the BLM a lot.

Thank you for all you are doing to help the American wild horse and burros. I applaud your efforts, and wish you the best in your efforts to create a sanctuary. These animals deserve better than being forced to live a miserable existence in the holding pens, or being sent to slaughter. I hope all the western states will follow your example and set up sanctuaries to preserve this very endearing part of American history. These round-ups must stop! This is nothing more than taxpayer funded animal abuse. I love horses and have never seen them in the wild. I look forward to visiting your eco-sanctuary to see these magnificent creatures in their natural existence. Again, thank you for your efforts to save the American wild horse and burros from extinction. You are awesome!

I fully support this wonderful effort to save our wild horses and burros. I would like to suggest drumming up more interest in the state of Wyoming also. We have several small herds in the Superior-Rock Springs area alone that are now under the threat of round up and I know of two mares on Hwy. 371 to Superior that have new, very small and fragile foals. I love these horses and have named these mares Sugarfoot and Pepper. It would break my heart to see these foals die like has happened already to these two devoted mothers two years in a row now. I stand with you Ms. Pickens.

If the BLM want to round up all that's left of our free wild mustangs; they could at least do it the old fashioned way. This is just animal cruelty and the BLM should not only Not get funding to do this, but they should be fined just for the animal cruelty that one can clearly see in this video!!! I wish that I had a lot of land and money to help save these beautiful animals. But, all that I can do is offer my support and thanks to Madeleine and to all that are helping and supporting her. Keep up the good work and please don't let our wild mustangs become extinct.

Please keep up the fight to free these beautiful horses and burros from the holding facilities. This is so wrong! I was outraged by this as an American citizen. Wild horses and burros are a symbol of our freedom and deserve to be protected and run wild. We have large tracks of public land that can be designated for them. I look forward to hearing more about the progress to end the cruel round-ups and free OUR horses. God Bless!

Thank you for trying to do so much for our wonderful heritage of american horses. I love horses and so does my 12 yr old daughter. I purchased a lovely horse for her, but sadly had to give her up. Couldn't afford her anymore because I am disabled now. Thank God for your good works.

I can't believe that of all animals inhabiting the wild in areas populated by wild horses its the horse that gets the shaft! I, too own domestic horses but am aware that these are wild animals, animals not accustomed to living in people made pens. No one checks to see if they mix bands in their "Holding" areas, a fate similar to penning up any of the feuding peoples together. IMHO the bottom line is they want horses out of the way so they can allow more cattle to graze our public lands. They forget, its not "Cattleman's lands" it AMERICAN PUB:IC land.

BTW I am just 12 years old but I have done almost six months of research and it shows that horses aren't being sent across the borders to slaughter houses. That's a downright lie. Slaughter houses for wild horses have been shut down. They were shut down almost five years ago. Also even before they shut down no one was selling thier animals to the houses.
